This past Saturday, July 14th, we hosted a Vintage Carnival Party for our good friend's 25th birthday. Everything was made by hand! The whole event took us about a month working every other day or on the weekends and less than $200 for everything, including the food! It was a HUGE hit!
As soon as guests walked into the party area, they were greeted with a Step Right Up sign inviting them into the "carnival". It was super cute and gave that something extra to catch your eye. We also made an oversized birthday card featuring mini flags attached for everyone to sign. By far our favorite piece! Coming in second place would have to be the circus tent which we made out of plastic tablecloths from the Dollar Store. Yes, that's right....the Dollar Store! Can't even tell can you?
The beverage table included chilled champagne, lemonade with fresh strawberries and lemon slices, and ice water with fresh lemon slices. A large ice chest with additional alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages is not pictured.
Pictured above is the lovely dessert table featuring freshly baked cupcakes with vanilla frosting, a variety of candies, and fresh fruit skewers. Handmade pinwheel decorations and balloons also flanked both sides of the table.
Aside from delicious snacks including hot dogs, macaroni salad, and pita chips with artichoke dip, the food table also continued the carnival theme with a working popcorn machine and jukebox featuring a custom made playlist. Tunes from the present as well as years gone by created a festive yet relaxing atmosphere for guests. In addition, peanuts were used as a replacement for confetti to add a unique, yet very appropriate touch.
The absolutely amazing table cloth circus tent!
We still can't believe how amazing it turned out! We used about 32 tablecloths to make this and endless amounts of staples to keep it in place. White Christmas lights were wrapped around poles and amazing round bulb patio lights from Target hung across the tent, which really set the mood!
The photo booth was also popular among guests, especially as the night progressed. Custom made props were available (including celebrity masks, paper mustaches, glasses, etc.) which made for great memories and hilarious photos.
We hope you all enjoyed browsing through the photos as much as we enjoyed making and hosting the party. Hopefully there will be more events in the near future!
